Laura Tanguy, the runner up of the Miss France 2008 contest, is to represent France in the 2008 Miss Universe Pageant. She was actually the runner up in the Miss France 2008 contest, but due to scandalous pictures of Valérie Bègue being released two weeks after her coronation, Laura Tanguy was awarded the spot in the Miss Universe Pageant. The French beauty, Laura Tanguy, spent her entire childhood in San Antonio, Texas and learned to speak perfect English. When she returned to France in her teens she went to a town called Ecouflant, where she currently lives. In Ecouflant, Tanguy is pursing her education in nursing and practicing tennis at a high level.
 
Laura Tanguy is not Miss France, she is the runner up of Miss France. Valérie Bègue still remains Miss France, however, she is not allowed to compete in Miss World, Miss Universe, and a few other smaller pageants. Even though she does not hold the Miss France crown she still has a chance the chance to be crowned Miss Universe 2008.
