The San Diego Chargers are, without question, one of the most disappointing teams of the early 2008 season. The Chargers do have time to turn things around, but they will need to adopt a sense of urgency that they have only displayed on rare occasion thus far. The Philadelphia Eagles will travel to San Francisco this weekend in an attempt to end their two game losing skid. The Eagles will be without Brian Westbrook this week; Westbrook suffered some broken ribslate in last week's game.

The 49ers had a tough job last week playing a Patriots team coming off a bye week and a sound beating by the Dolphins in the week prior to that. San Francisco held strong for a while, leading 14-7 in the first quarter but they could not sustain their effort. Their passing game was virtually non-existent (122 yards) and the run game did not make up for it, generating just 77 yards.

The Dallas Cowboys and the Arizona Cardinals are set to do battle this Sunday at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona. The disappointing Jacksonville Jaguars have another difficult task this Sunday as they head to Denver to face the 4-1 Broncos. Prior to the season, the Jaguars were one of the most hyped teams in the league, but their 2-3 start has squashed expectations. Denver is just a few plays away from being 2-3, but they have done enough to earn their 4-1 mark. Last week's win against the Bucs had to be especially encouraging to Mke Shanahan because his defense stepped up on a day when the offense was not hitting on all cylinders. The Broncos offensive numbers were not terrible but they did have trouble finding the end zone. The Denver defense, however, limited Tampa Bay to just 307 total yards and 13 points.

The Panthers will take their 4-1, NFC South leading record on the road this weekend for a Sunday showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They lost last week in Denver and their offense was surprisingly thwarted by a Broncos defense that has been a doormat all season long. Things will not get an easier for them against Carolina. Brian Griese will need to bring his A game for Jon Gruden's team to get a victory in this one.
